Empowering people
CLIENT: DAVID LEWIS CENTRE
Following a change of leadership, we helped David Lewis Centre to find a new way to talk about what they do, to recruit more social workers, and to promote the charity’s school and college in Cheshire.
Based in Cheshire, David Lewis Centre provides outstanding education, residential, medical and therapeutic support for people with learning disabilities, epilepsy and autism.
The context
Based in Cheshire, David Lewis Centre deliver a portfolio of services including a specialist school and further education college, residential services, adult day services with opportunities to develop social skills and vocational skills, and access to specialist nursing and medical care.
The challenge
Following a change of leadership and a new strategic direction, David Lewis Centre asked us to help them define a new way to describe what they do, with a particular need to reposition their school and college to recruit more students, and to promote the career opportunities available with the charity for social workers.
What we did
We created a new messaging framework for David Lewis Centre, with key messages to underpin communications that inspired people to take a fresh look at what they do.
There was also a need to communicate a significant change for their school offer, with a change in admission age, and they also needed to attract and recruit support workers - at a time when the wider social care sector is facing a significant struggle with recruitment.
We supported David Lewis Centre by:
Developing new overarching positioning that David Lewis Centre is a truly remarkable place, putting this inspirational message front and centre of communications
Creating a campaign to advise local education authorities about the changes for the school, along with messaging to challenge some long standing misconceptions about the offer available for young people with complex needs
Developing a campaign to promote the fantastic package on offer for support workers joining the charity, along with highlighting the remarkable location where David Lewis Charity is based
Developed the script for two brand films for the charity to communicate the above
“Sarah from Really Good Things is an expert in her field. Talented, knowledgeable and very creative! She helped us achieve incredible campaigns with tight deadlines. Love working with her – she inspires me!”
