Funding Vital Research
Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation
Services: Individual Giving Audit, Trusts And Grants Research
Strengthening income generation for the leading UK lung cancer charity.
Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is the leading UK lung cancer charity dedicated to helping everyone affected by the disease. From diagnosis, through treatment, living with the disease, and end of life care.
The charity raises awareness, prevents future generations from getting the disease, and challenges the misconceptions of lung cancer so that those diagnosed can live well with lung cancer for as long as possible. They also fund research into early detection of the disease.
What we did
We worked with the charity on three core projects.
A review of the charity’s existing individual giving income stream, to identify areas for improvements to increase recruitment and retention of regular givers, as well as increase the average gift amount made
Conducting research to identify trusts and grants that were outside of the funders that the charity had an existing relationship with, or typically approached – identifying new ways of packaging the charity’s activities to create fundable projects
Identifying ways to inspire and recruit new donors through improved marketing, communications, storytelling, and donor journey processes
“I asked Sarah from Really Good Things to conduct a review of a very complex area of our fundraising, and to develop a strategy to increase and awareness. I wanted a clear, concise but strong report showing us areas of development and an action plan to move ahead. It doesn’t sound easy when you put it like that, but she did it – in weeks. It would have taken me months to get to the same point, if I ever managed to at all, and I would not have brought so many valuable insights as they were able to, drawing on knowledge from such a diverse client base. Worth every penny and more.”
